Take a Ride with me

My old friend and big sis from Phi Mu was in town this weekend with her mom and two little girls. They are going to the American Girl Cafe today. Her youngest who just turned 4 and Nicholas really hit it off. They ran for the backyard and we found them riding around on the 4-wheeler as happy as can be. Isn't that just the cutest thing?
Nolan finally started crawling on all fours this week. He is also starting to pull up on things, but only pulls up to his knees. He hasn't figured out how to get up to his feet. He is also getting 3 new teeth in, two on top and one more on the bottom. He'll have 5 teeth when he is done!
I love this picture...why play with the million toys you have when you can sit and play with the door stop? For some reason that and the dog's water bowl fascinate him.

Alabama's future star

The first pictures of the future all American for the Alabama Crimson Tide....

Isn't this the cutest thing you ever saw? Nicholas decided about a week ago that he wanted to be an Alabama football player for Halloween. He kept talking about it so I went ahead and ordered it. It came in tonight and Nicholas was so excited. I think I'm going to let Nolan either be an elephant or Paul Bear Bryant. I'm leaning towards the elephant. I can't wait for Halloween now!

Sunday Swimming

We spent a fun Sunday afternoon at the neighborhood pool. Nicholas and Nolan both love the water. Nolan has no fear of it right now. If he keeps it up, I have a feeling he'll be a little fish next summer. He loves to splash and get his face wet.
Nicholas swam all over chasing Jason. He still won't take off his floaties, but he'll get there one day. He made a new friend with a little boy in the neighborhood that is about his age. He played so hard, he came home and crashed. Doesn't he look so sweet sleeping?

Fall is in the air

I know, it's still hot outside, but Nicholas got some new tennis shoes today. Something about that makes you know that fall will be here soon :) Cool weather, Alabama Football, Nolan and Nicholas's b-day...is my favorite season :)

Nolan's new trick

Nolan can now pull himself to sitting from his tummy. Wow, how they grow! He is eyeing the coffee table too, so I'm guessing he is trying to figure out how to pull himself up to see what's on top.

Nicholas had his 2nd dentist appointment today and did great! I didn't even have to go back with him. He got x-rays and everything. He gets excited about going to the dentist. I can't say I get the same feeling when I have to go. I guess if I got toys and stickers I might like it better :) He got a pirate thing to put in his crocs and a new Cars toothbrush. For anyone in the Atlanta area I would highly recommend this dentist. It's Children's Dental Zone in Johns Creek off of Old Alabama Road.

A proposal

Another cute saying from Nicholas.

"Mommy, when I get older and get married, I'm going to marry you". Let me tell you, my heart melted. I asked what about Daddy. He didn't seem too concerned about that, Sorry Jason :)

Latest on Nolan

His fever went down and he went back to school today. I just heard from the doc and after reviewing his records she has decided to hold off on the ENT. She is going to recheck him in 6-7 weeks at his 1 year appointment and do another OAE test to check his hearing. He had an abnormal result last week with the test due to having fluid in his ear. If that comes back abnormal again or his ear is infected, we go to the ENT. It's funny how two kids can be so different. I think Nicholas has had 2 ear infections. Once when he was 4 months and another last fall. I also find it hard to believe that Nolan is almost a year! Where did the time go?

New class

Nicholas's had so much fun going to his new class today at school. He is now in the 4 year old room. How fast they grow!

Nolan decided to get another ear infection today...so it was back to the doctor and onto another drug. He is sleeping now. Hopefully the little guy will start feeling better. The good thing to come out of this is that the doctor is going to send us to an ENT. Keep your fingers crossed that everything works out for him.

I'm so proud of Nicholas. Most kids would have complained about having to go to the doctor again (we were just there last Tuesday) and then bringing dragged to the pharmacy...all of this at dinnertime. He never complained about it. He just let me know that he still needed dinner and a bath when we got home :) He told everyone at the doctor's office that Nolan had a fever. It was so cute. When Nolan got cranky, he sang him songs and played with him.

two thumbs up

The movie was really good. I highly recommend it if you like musicals.

Not much going on over here. Just spending a lazy Sunday afternoon with the kids.

Happy Thursday

I hope everyone has had a great week. Ours has been good and hot here in Atlanta. It looks like we are finally going to get some rain today. It has gotten very dark and windy outside my office window in the past 5 minutes. I just hope it clears up some before I leave to get the kids at 4. I've pretty much given up on my flowers this year. It has been so hot the past couple of weeks and I got sick of pulling the hose out for my watering days. Alpharetta still has watering restrictions in place due to the drought. I can water 3 days a week before 10am by hand. Sounds fun right? Now you see why I've given up :)

The boys are doing good. Nolan is eating more table food everyday and Nicholas is busy being a 3 going on 4 year old. He loves to question my about everything! He is getting ready to move up to the 4 year old room at school on Monday. He is sad to leave Ms. Angel behind, but excited that he has gotten bigger and can move up a room. He has been telling everyone lately that he has gotten bigger.

I get a girl's night out tomorrow night. I'm so excited. We are going to dinner and then to see Mama Mia. I'll let you know how the movie is.

What a weekend

What a fun weekend! We had some friends over Saturday night for a BBQ. It was a great time! The kids had so much fun playing with each other and Jason and I enjoyed some grown-up company. I made the best drinks. They are called Beergaritas. Here is the recipe:
1 (12 ounce) can frozen limeade concentrate
6 - 12 ounces tequila
3 (12 ounce) Mexican-style beers (I used Corona Light)
Ice
Lime slices for garnish

In a pitcher, stir together limade and tequila until well blended. Add the beers. Pour into glasses over ice and garish with the lime slices.
The boys started out the weekend by playing Friday night. They ended up under the dining room table!
Tonight, Nicholas wanted to throw a party for his toy monster. This is the result. He decorated the kitchen with the couch pillows and every blanket we had in the den. He wanted to make sure there was enough seats for all his guests :)

Funny story...as Nicholas was pulling all the couch cushions into the kitchen, I kept telling him that we had enough. Of course, he didn't listen. I finally said N-O...NO. He looked at me and asked what did Yes start with! It was so funny.

My sweet Nolan

Here's a video of my sweet Nolan doing his version of crawling. That's a batman mask he is going for in case anyone was wondering :)
