Hermie's new pad

Hermie, the Hermit Crab, got a new pad today. He is now the envy of every hermit crab on the block :) Just trying to get up with the Jones! His new place is double the size of his original and it includes some fun amusements. Nicholas was so excited to pick everything out. And yes, Nicholas picked out the blue sand. I never knew the pet store would have so much hermit crab stuff. Now I know :)

Beach Trip

We spent Thursday - Sunday at the Beach with my sister and her family. We even got our parents to come down and enjoy the sand and surf as well. It was so much fun! Nolan loved the water and Nicholas got over his fear by the last day and was jumping in the waves and surfing on a body board. The kids all got along so well. In fact, Nicholas now wants to go live with his cousin Jake and Aunt Jamie. He is fine with just seeing us when we come to Grandmomma's house. I really hoping he changes his mind...I've grown quite fond of the kid :)

Jamie and I ventured out and decided to go Parasailing. This is us on the banana boat which we had to ride out to the parasailing boat.

Update

Not much going on here. Work and playing with the kids. We went swimming and played on Nicholas's slip n' slide on Saturday and had dinner with friends on Sunday. Friday night I got to go shopping and then meet some friends for girls night out. So much fun.

Room Redo

We got a new couch about 2 weeks ago so I have been slowly redoing the family room around my new love. My sister has been begging (okay, not begging, but she has asked) to see pics so here they are :)

I went to HomeGoods yesterday and got the candlesticks and vase in the middle. My mantle was in the need of a redo. Vase - 9.99, Candlesticks - 12.99 each. I love a good deal. I really want a new mirror...a round one, but I haven't found one I like yet that didn't cost an arm and a leg. I'll keep looking

I got these shelves at Target.

Ignore the patched hole in the wall to the left. I'm still fixing it.

New Couch. I'm still using my pillows from the old couch until I find something else I like. I really love these from Potterybarn, but don't want to spend $40 a pillow when I can make them. I'll also have to redo the curtains so no rush right now.

Best part of new couch. It is away from the way and all the toys are behind it!

Hope your Sunday was as relaxing as ours. I got woken up by my 20 month old telling me "It's time to get up" In exactly those words. We hung around and then went swimming in the afternoon. Hope everyone has a great week!

Happy Birthday Jason!

We celebrated Jason's birthday this past weekend in Birmingham at Jason's Mom's house. All the family was there. It was a fun time. Jason got to play golf with his brothers and uncle and all the kids went to see Thomas live on stage at the civic center. Nolan loved it. He as dancing when they sang and clapping along. I was dying laughing watching him.

Nicholas also got to slip 'n slide with his cousin Gabi on Saturday afternoon. I was jealous watching them. I wanted to join them, but didn't really want to get my clothes wet. If only I had packed my swim suit. I might have to buy one for my house and act like I don't know about the water restrictions :)
