St George Island

We spent last week with our toes in the sand at St George Island with my parents and my sister Jamie and her family. It was a wonderful week. We had great weather. Only rained one day.

I love how well all the cousins get along. It is so much fun watching them interact with each other. We stayed in an amazing house right on the beach with a private pool. Divided our time between the beach and pool and had a blast doing it. We rented a boat one afternoon and explored St Joseph's Bay. Nicholas learned how to ride the waves on his board and Nolan was brave enough by the end of the trip to swim in the ocean without being held the whole time. Played lots of games, my dad even brought out an old family favorite, Pig Mania! You roll these little plastic pigs and get points based on how they land. The kids loved it! Nolan set a new family record with one roll that scored 83 points! All in all a great, relaxing week!

Jumping Beans

Just wanted to share some pics of our beach trip this week. The kids had so much fun jumping in the pool all afternoon. Nicholas from the side, and Nolan from the stairs.

Nicholas invented a new jump called the angry bird...after the game!

Lazy days of summer

It has been a great beginning to the summer! I can't believe it has been 3 weeks already! The boys have enjoyed being at home instead of school and daycare. Nolan is switching schools in the fall so we decided to pull him out of daycare and keep him at home this summer. I work full time, but telecommute so I'm able to have the boys at home with me. It has been going really smoothly so far. They hang out in the morning and then we go to the pool in the afternoon. I'm able to work down there thanks to a laptop and wireless. I love technology! And yes, I am actually getting work done!

The benefits of the afternoon at the pool...falling asleep in the strangest places :)

The boys enjoyed VBS - Pandamania last week. They went in the morning and still got to go to the pool in the afternoon.

Today we enjoyed a new pool as we met some of Nicholas's old classmates for a class pool party. You would have thought it had been so much longer than 3 weeks since school got out. Their teacher even showed up for a while!

Fun at the Lake

Saturday we packed up the car and headed to Lake Logan Martin to spend the day at the Murphee family reunion. The Murphee's are Jason's grandmother's family on his dad's side. Both Jason's Mom and Uncle have a lake place so we first headed over to his Mom's place, loaded up the boat and then started out for his uncle's place where the reunion was being held. It was our 1st boat ride of the season and it was wonderful. The weather and water were great! We spent the day playing in the water and taking boat rides. Our day ended with a sunset boat ride back to Jason's mom's place. Then this Mommy got to drive 2 tired kids and one tired husband home. We pulled into our driveway around 11 and Nicholas announced that he was the only one that stayed awake. I told him for an awake person he sure did look like he was asleep back there!

Happy Birthday Jason!

Monday we celebrated Jason's Birthday. The birthday boy decided that he wanted to play putt putt. So we braved the heat and headed out. Loved watching Nolan try to handle the club. It was a little big for him. I also loved how he would move the ball to where he wanted it and then would hit it.

Nicholas smiling on hole #8 after he made a hole in one! He ended up making 3 that day. Same number as Jason. After the 3rd one, he turned to me and said "Mommy, don't be mad. That's just how I roll!" I died laughing!

Braves and Birthdays

May brings 3 birthdays in our family. My dad's is the 11th, Niece Maggie is the 14th, and Jason's is the 30th. This year was the big 6-0 for my dad and he decided that he wanted to go to a Braves game. So everyone came up to Atlanta for Memorial day weekend and we headed to the Braves game on Sunday night. A great time was had by all. My aunt Teresa and her grandson Damon came up for the game also. The boys loved having their cousins, Henry, Maggie and Audrey stay at their house. Nicholas thinks that Henry is the coolest thing since sliced bread.

3 birthdays means 3 cakes...one for each!

Nolan, Maggie and Damon running the bases. This was at 11:23pm, after the game, so amazed Nolan was still up for it.

Last Day of school

Hello First Grade, Goodbye Kindergarten! Last Friday we celebrated the last day of kindergarten. I can't believe how fast the year as gone by and how much Nicholas as learned. He is adding and subtracting and reading! I can't wait to see what next year brings!

Nicholas's school had an end of the year luau for all the kindergarten classes. There were tons of games and I got to paint faces. It was so much fun.
