The sweet and funny things that kids say

Nolan on Valentine's Day after getting his box of chocolates -Mommy, I'm going to save these and share them with Daddy when he gets home.

Nolan - Mommy, I'm glad that Daddy is your husband

Nicholas - while taking about what he could give up for lent, he proudly announced he would give up sleeping in his bed. Which means he would be sleeping with us for 40 nights. Mommy's reply - I think not :)

Nolan - When someone asks him what the ashes on his forehead mean on Ash Wednesday - I belong to Jesus!

Nolan - After tasting the carrots I cooked for dinner - Mommy, these are brilliant!

Nicholas - on having freckles -  I wish I didn't have freckles, they don't do anything!

Easter

We had a wonderful Easter here at home. We woke up early to see if the bunny had visited.  He did!  He left a trail of chocolate from the stairs to the boy's baskets.  He also hid cadbury eggs around the house to find!  We went to early mass to avoid the crowd.  It was nice to not have to get there an hour before the service on a holiday!  Of course, getting up early has it's problems, but also it's pluses.... After church, I took a nap!

That afternoon we had several friends over for a late lunch and an egg hunt.  Nolan was so excited as this is the first year he had friends his age over.  Normally all the kids are Nicholas's age.  This year they each had friends to play with.  It was a wonderful day and fun was had by all!

Alexanders on the Beach

Spring Beach 2012!

Spring Break 2012! Funny how that means something different when you are grown up! We headed to Seagrove beach for a couple of days for a quick getaway. It was beautiful as always. Weather was great. Can't remember a warmer spring break. We were able to get in the water and not freeze. We had a blast just relaxing on the beach. Built a new sand castle everyday and the kids realized the joys of burying each other in the sand! My sister decided to come down for one day and join us and the kids loved spending time with their cousins.

Egg Hunt

Nicholas's class had an egg hunt last Friday. So sad that this is his last year of school egg hunts. I guess they have to grow up sometime :( Their egg hunt was math themed. They were each assigned a number. Nicholas was #9. They could only pickup eggs that had a math problem that equaled their number. For example, Nicholas could pick up 5+4 because it equaled his number 9. The kids had a blast and it was so cute watching them solve the problems and help each other.
