Hanging Tough

I got to realize a childhood dream last night....I got to see NKOTB in concert. Okay, you can stop laughing now....I was awesome! They mixed all the old songs with some new. The whole place was packed and stood the whole time singing and dancing. I felt like I was back in 7th grade again! Joey is still so cute! I couldn't believe that I remembered the words and some of dances. The funniest part was when they left the stage the first time they haven't yet sung Hanging Tough. I kid you not when I tell you that the whole arena started waving hands and singing Hanging Tough together to get them back out. They came back and sang Step by Step and Hanging Tough for a encore. If they are coming to a city near year, get a ticket and go. It was great to feel like a preteen again. And yes, the whole audience was 30 year old women, with a couple of kids and husbands that got dragged there. Thanks to my wonderful husband for letting me go, watching the kids so I could go and watching Julie's daughter so she could go too :) We didn't get home until almost 1am so I'm struggling this morning (I'm hanging tough ...sorry I couldn't help myself), but it was totally worth it!

Live from Atlanta

Sorry about it being turned the wrong way. I was holding the camera wrong :) This is Nicholas singing the peanut song (his version of it). Below are the real words to the song

2 little peanuts sitting on a track, there hearts were all a flutter. Along came a choo-choo on the track, Choo-Choo Peanut Butter.

My grandmomma taught me the song when I was a little girl and Nicholas loves it. Only a boy would add the additional word at the end!

He loves me, he really loves me

Jason is the morning guy around our house. I'm not a morning person, never have been and probably never will be. It has always worked out well since Jason is up everyday by 7 anyway...even on vacation with no kids! Drives me crazy sometimes, but I love it because he'll get up with the kids. The always come back to our bathroom to brush teeth and kiss me goodbye before they leave. Nolan has started wanting to get in bed with me and snuggle while Nicholas and Jason brush teeth and hair. This morning the routine was the same. They left the room to get ready to head out and I rolled over to try to catch a few more Zzzs before I had to get up for real. About 2 minutes later I hear my sweet little Nolan crawling across the hardwood floor to our room. He came right over to the bed and looked up at me. So we got a little more snuggle time today. It was so sweet. He laid down on my chest, snuggled in and started babbling to me. Man, that boy knows how to get to me :)

On another note, man is it cold! It is supposed to get down to freezing tonight and be back up to 70 by Friday. I really hope it does get up to 70 on Friday. It will make treat or tricking better if we are not freezing!

Cows, Pumpkins and Parties

Wow...what a Saturday! We woke up this morning and went to Cagle's Dairy Farm for the farm tour and to get our pumpkin. The farm tour was so neat. We got to see and feed the baby cows, see how a cow is milked (all the kids thought that was gross), and see how they bottle milk. We then went on a hay ride and got to see a pig race and see the dog herd the milking cows over to us. I highly recommend Cagle's if you live in Atlanta. There are two locations. We went to the one closer to Atlanta in Canton.

After the farm tour we picked out our pumpkin and headed home. I then got to go do a little x-mas shopping by myself! Then it was off to a birthday party for me and Nicholas. It was a costume party so Nicholas got to wear his football uniform again.

Whew...I'm tired! Now it's time to relax and watch some Alabama football...Roll Tide!

Boo at the Zoo

Thanks everyone for your sweet emails and comments. Things are getting better. Hopefully everything will get wrapped up this week. Keep your fingers crossed :)

Yesterday, my good friend Abby came up with her two little boys to go to Boo at the Zoo. I've known Abby since 1st grade. This is the first time the boys have seen each other since they were babies. They had a blast together! Her two are 3 and almost 5. They all got to wear their costumes to the Zoo and loved it! Nicholas was a Alabama football player and Nolan was an elephant. Nicholas's costume was a big hit. Everyone kept commenting on it. There was only one other football player that I saw. He was a Tennessee player. Poor kid :)

They got to get candy and then we all rode the carousal. We met another friend down there with her little girl. She was the cutest little fairy you ever saw.

Today I took the boys to a birthday party for one of Nicholas's friends. It was so much fun to watch Nicholas with all his school friends. One of the "crew" as I call it was there. He always talks about him, Dakoda and Gavin. I thought it was a little early for cliques, but I guess I was wrong :)

Nicholas and Scooby Doo. He was so excited when he saw him.

This was so funny. The boys all got light swords and then started fighting another kid that was dressed as Dark Varder!

Poor, Poor Pitiful me

Poor, Poor Pitiful me. I needed someone to vent/cry to and since Jason is not home yet, you lucky readers get it. Ever had one of those weeks? Mine has been going on for about 2 weeks now. Work has been crazy. I've been trying to get something to work for about 2 1/2 weeks. It's a new process that I inherited from someone who left and I'm beginning to realize why she quit. I won't go into details, but it has really got me stressed out to the max. The bad part is that I'm having to depend on another group and it makes it aggrevating to say the least. Everything that doesn't work is my fault, not there's. I don't mind taking blame for things I did, but own up that sometimes the mistake might be you! I end up logging on to work most nights and I hate that. Night time is for being with my family, not working! I took the dog to the vet before work this morning and ended up breaking down on the phone to Jason once we were back home because I couldn't get her to take her meds. I know, I need to take a chill pill. I did finally get the meds down, but it almost killed both of us. She took pity on me tonight and took them with her food. I think even little Nolan realizes Mommys is sad because at bedtime he wanted to sit with me. He normally just wants to go in his crib to get his teddy bear, but tonight we sat in his chair and he fell asleep on me. He smiled the whole time. Funny how a 1 year old can see what Mommy needs. I wonder at what age Boys lose that ability :)
On a happy note (see I can still see that bright side of things), my friend Abby is coming up on Saturday with her kids to go to the Boo at the Zoo. I'm so excited to see her. It is just what I need right now.
So keep your fingers, toes, legs, arms, etc crossed for me that it gets better soon. I won't say it can't get worse, because with my luck it will! Thanks for the listening/reading.

2 thumbs up!

Wicked was awesome! I think it is the best musical I've ever seen. It was also nice to be able to go to the theater with Jason again. We had season tickets to the Fox before Nicholas was born and really enjoyed it.

Also, what is up with the football polls? Do they have something against SEC teams? How do you start the week at #2, not play, have #1, #3, #4 lose and not become #1? It the same thing they did to GA at the beginning of the year. GA won, but they dropped to #2 that week. Whatever, all the matters it that you are #1 or #2 after the regular season is over. They both go to the same bowl game :)

Update

Sorry, I haven't posted all week. It was a crazy week as usual. On top of everything, I got sick. I'm feeling much better now. My parents are on their way here right now and my sister Jamie will be coming later. We are all going to see Wicked tonight. I'm so excited and can't wait! Nolan's teacher is coming over to stay with the kids. Both of them adore her.

Nolan got his ears rechecked by the ENT on Tuesday and everything looked great. We go back in 6 months. His wonderful teachers at school also got him to drop his bottles and start using a cup. Granted the cup still has a nipple on top, but at least it doesn't leak out like a bottle. My carpet is very grateful :) Still not walking, but I don't think it will be much longer. He climbed the stairs last night. He was so proud of himself.

Nicholas is busy being a 3 year old. Anybody want him for awhile? J/k, I wouldn't trade him for the world though he does try my patience. His favorite thing now is to tell us we hurt his feelings when we tell him to do something or he gets into trouble. He is such a drama queen sometimes. Earlier in the week I was actually thinking that #3 might not be such a bad idea, after experiencing both of them running around last night I have to wonder what I was thinking. #3 might send me over the edge. So for all the Moms of 3 out there... I salute you.

Park and Pumpkins

We had a fun Saturday morning at the Park. The kids got to play a little and then got to see some pumpkins. Nolan loved the swing. He loves to feel the wind in his face. Nicholas and Nolan both love driving with the windows down in the car.

Saturday afternoon was spent running errands and watching the Alabama game. It wasn't a very fun game to watch, but a least we won. I can't believe that Vandy is in the lead in the SEC East. I'm excited for them.

Today we aren't doing much of anything. Jason is playing football right now, Nolan is napping and Nicholas is watching a movie. I'm trying to get motivated to do some work. I have something that I have to implement tomorrow morning and the specs are in my email. Wouldn't you know that my work email won't open up at home today. The help desk can't figure it out so it looks like I'm going into the office when Jason gets home :( I haven't been into the office in almost 2 weeks due to the gas shortage. I'm really going to miss working from home everyday. It was great!

1 year check-up

He's the stats for Nolan who had his 1 year check-up today.

Height - 31 inches, 84th percentile
Weight - 22 pounds, 10 ounces, 47th percentile

Nicholas at 1 year
Height - 30.5 inches
Weight - 22 pounds, 4 ounces

Looks like little brother is shaping up to be a lot like big brother!

We all got our flu shots today also. I must brag on Nicholas. He didn't cry at all when he got his shot. He was such a big boy!

Mommy, I want to play too

Nicholas has a power wheel 4-wheeler that he loves to ride around the back yard. He loves to do this right before or right after dinner when I'm busy cooking or cleaning up. Of course, if he is outside that's where Nolan wants to be, but I don't really trust Nicholas not to run Nolan over so Nolan stays inside with me. I got these pics last night. Nolan stands there and watches Nicholas the whole time. It is the cutest thing.

You have to see it to believe it...yes this is how Nolan crawls around and carries his bottle at the same time. It is too funny. He'll go around the whole house like this, stopping every once in a while to take a sip.
