Roll Tide Roll

Saturday was Nicholas's 5th Birthday. We were over in B'ham at Jason's Mom's house. Nicholas got his favorite breakfast....doughnuts! We then all got ready and headed to T-town for the game. This was Nolan's 1st game and he loved it! The kid loves anything to do with sports so I knew he would. He yelled, cheered, danced and loved when the elephant game on the jumbo tron. He would point and say Mommy, elephant!

Happy Birthday Nicholas!

My little boy turns 5 tomorrow. We will be celebrating at the Alabama Game and then dinner with Reenie (that's what the kids call Jason's mom). Can't wait!

Dear Nicholas,
I can't believe that my little baby is 5. Where did the time go? I can still remember holding you for the 1st time. I never knew how much love you could feel for something so little. I was so glad you were here safe and you were healthy. You arrived a month early and scared us a little, but at 6 pounds 11 ounces the nurses laughed that you were considered a low birth weight baby because of how early you were born.

You were so cute and looked nothing like I thought you would. I imagined a head full of black hair. You came out with very little hair and it was white blond!

You brought so much joy into our house. I can't remember what it was like before you came.

I have love watching you grow into the little boy you are today. You have always wanted to succeed at everything and you don't want to do something until you know you can do it right. A little stubborn. Wonder where you got that trait :) But I love your determination.

You have such an active imagination. I love watching and listening to you play and I sit in awl at the world you create in your head.

I can't wait to see what you use that all that energy, imagination and determination to succeed at in life.

I feel blessed everyday that God chose me to be your Mom. Happy Birthday!

Love,
Mom

Almost 1 year old...Still no hair. That smile hasn't changed at all

Almost 2 years old. Look at all the white blond hair. You already loved your cars and always had one in your hand.

Almost 3. Smiling with your new car that you got for getting rid of your paci. You were so excited about your little brother that was in Mommy's tummy.

Almost 4 and full of energy

My handsome boy

Its a bird, Its a Plane, Its Superman!

We had Nicholas's 5th b-day party yesterday at our house. It was a Superhero training party. It was a lot of work, but watching the kids have fun made it well worth the effort.

Below is the invitation. I made it myself. The "N" logo on top was made out of shrink film. You draw on it, put in the oven and it shrinks and turns hard. I got it at JoAnn's.
The Cake

As the kids entered the house, they got to "outfit" themselves and create their own superhero logo.

Super Capes and masks. I made the capes. Instructions at familyfun.com

Making logos - They were small circles which they decorated with markers and stickers and then put into a clear plastic button

Super Mom

The training was in the back yard. Below is everything they had to do.

Capture a bad guy - wrap him in TP

Vaporize a Villain - Silly String

Bat Cave

Crush Rocks - which were actually black balloons

Mighty Muscles - lift 100 pounds

All the superheros ready for training

Going into the Bat Cave. They had to go in and get a glow stick which would give them their superhero powers.
After getting their powers they all lifted the weights
Here's the b-day boy

This is my nephew Jake

Crushing the rocks - The kids loved this. I had about 50 or so balloons

Leaping a building in a single bound. They loved this too.
Did it about 10 times a piece

Capturing the bad guys - Daddy and Granddaddy.
They were good sports about it.

Vaporizing a villain with silly string. Turned into a fight of grownups against kids. Notice my dad in the back (red shirt) spraying the b-day boy (superman)

The b-day boy blowing out his candles. He had such a great time. He told me Thank You Mommy for a great party. He has already started planning next years :)

Trick or Treat, Smell my feet

Trick or Treat, Smell my feet....

That's Nicholas's favorite song right now. I hope you all had a great Halloween. Ours was wet, but we still had a good time. My parents came up for the weekend and the boys loved having them here. Below are some pics of our trick or treating.

The boys....cowboy and Elvis
I made both outfits. They looked so cute!

Me and the boys. I was a cowgirl

Going through the loot and trying to keep Daddy from stealing all their candy :)
