We had Nicholas's 5th b-day party yesterday at our house. It was a Superhero training party. It was a lot of work, but watching the kids have fun made it well worth the effort.
Below is the invitation. I made it myself. The "N" logo on top was made out of shrink film. You draw on it, put in the oven and it shrinks and turns hard. I got it at JoAnn's.

The Cake
As the kids entered the house, they got to "outfit" themselves and create their own superhero logo.

Super Capes and masks. I made the capes. Instructions at familyfun.com

Making logos - They were small circles which they decorated with markers and stickers and then put into a clear plastic button

Super Mom
The training was in the back yard. Below is everything they had to do.

Capture a bad guy - wrap him in TP

Vaporize a Villain - Silly String
Bat Cave

Crush Rocks - which were actually black balloons

Mighty Muscles - lift 100 pounds

All the superheros ready for training

Going into the Bat Cave. They had to go in and get a glow stick which would give them their superhero powers.

After getting their powers they all lifted the weights
Here's the b-day boy

This is my nephew Jake

Crushing the rocks - The kids loved this. I had about 50 or so balloons

Leaping a building in a single bound. They loved this too.
Did it about 10 times a piece

Capturing the bad guys - Daddy and Granddaddy.
They were good sports about it.

Vaporizing a villain with silly string. Turned into a fight of grownups against kids. Notice my dad in the back (red shirt) spraying the b-day boy (superman)

The b-day boy blowing out his candles. He had such a great time. He told me Thank You Mommy for a great party. He has already started planning next years :)
