Spring is here...or is it?

It's Spring! That's what I was thinking a couple of days ago. The weather was great, we had new life in our front yard (see below) and then old man winter decided he wasn't done yet. The past two days have been chilly. Upper 40s in the morning and highs in the lower 60s. Just when I have put up winter clothes and jackets we had to get them back out. It is supposed to warm up by Thursday and I hope it stays that way!

Our new feathered friends in the front yard!

Other things we have been up to...

Getting happy meals! Nolan was so excited to get a batman! Loves his superheros and has already decided to have a superhero birthday party this year. His birthday isn't until September. I guess he is a planner like his momma!

We made tie-dyed t-shirts. So much fun!

We enjoyed a birthday party at Catch Air

Met Sponge bob!

Been up to lots more, but no camera! Jason and I had a date night Friday night. Enjoyed going to the Roswell Ghost Tour. It was so interesting to learn about the history of the city. We discovered a beautiful area down at Vickery Creek where the old Roswell Mills Ruins are and took the boys back on Saturday night after a graduation party and dinner. They really enjoyed it and we are all looking forward to going back and hiking some more. We were dressed for the grad party this time and high heels and trails really don't mix very well.

Why I love my son....

Sunday we spent a lazy day at home to celebrate Mother's day. The kids gave me my present, a necklace from waxing poetic. I love it! Jason and Nicholas worked on riding the bike without training wheels and he did it! So proud of him! My favorite part of the day was at dinner. Nicholas asked me for some more milk. I was just about to get up and pour him some more when he stopped me and said it was my day and I didn't have to do anything. He then handed it to Jason and told him to go get him some because it was Mother's Day and that meant Dads have to do everything! I laughed so hard!

Mother's Day Adventure 2011

Saturday we headed to Warm Springs and Pine Mountain, GA for our Mother's Day adventure. My mom, dad, sister Jamie and her kids met us there.

We started the day at the Bulloch House Restaurant in Warm Springs, GA. Great southern food!

All the kids outside of the Bulloch house

We then loaded the cars back up and headed to Pine Mountain for the Animal Safari!

Great time touring and feeding all the animals. Even us big kids enjoyed it!

Everyone ready to go!

We all loved the zebras! They would open their mouth for you to drop the food in

Scout doing her impression of the cow's tongue. They had some big ones!

All of us!

They had the albino Python out and the kids got to hold it. All of them were so excited except for Jake, notice him in the back!

Muffins for Mom x2

This morning was muffins for Mom at both of the boys' schools. We headed out early (6:20 am) so I could make both of them. First, we went to Nolan's school and Nicholas and I enjoyed some muffins with him.

Nicholas and I then headed over to his school. I got to see the class caterpillars that he has been taking about. They are studying butterflies and the whole class is so excited to watch them go through all the stages.

I stayed after muffins for mom with another mom and we kicked the teachers out for 15 minutes so we could work on part of their end of the year presents. The kids thought it was so funny that we "kicked" them out. We were putting hand prints of all the students on an apron for one teacher and a pillowcase for the other (She has back problems and has a pillow in her chair, needs a cute case). The kids were so wonderful and even stood guard at the door in case the teachers came back early!

Stone Mountain

This Sunday we spent the day at Stone Mountain as part of Frito Lay Appreciation Day. We enjoyed a picnic with fellow Frito Lay families and then headed out to explore the park. We rode a train around the base of the mountain, saw a 4-D movie, rode the sky tram to the top, played in the barn, and experienced frontier days. It was a fun filled day and we had a great time!
