October fun

What a fun fall weekend we had!  It started Thursday night.  Nicholas had his cub scout pack's pumpkin craving contest.  He designed an eagle for his pumpkin.  After the pumpkin craving, the boys who met their popcorn sales goal out to throw a pie in the face of one of the pack leaders.  I thought Nicholas was going to throw it into his den leader's face, but to the surprise of all of us standing there, threw it in the head pack leader's instead.  He is the dad of one of his friends so I guess that is why he picked him.  It was too funny!

Nolan got to have fun on Thursday night also.  He had Dad and Me night at his school.  Jason got on an earlier flight home from Dallas in order to make it and they both had an awesome time.  Nolan went as a pirate.

Friday was Freaky Friday at Nicholas's school.  As always it was an awesome time.  Games, face painting, jumpy things, pizza and dancing.  Nicholas went as a zombie and Nolan refused to put on a costume :)

A birthday party to remember

Friday night started out just like any normal Friday night.  Nolan and I headed to Monkey Joe's for a birthday party.  He was having a blast and then 30 minutes before the party was over he runs over to me crying and holding his arm.  He had fallen running across the floor to the next jumpy thing.  I figured he just bruised it and would be fine.  We leave the party and head to the grocery store.  The whole time he times me his arm still hurts.  As we are getting back into the car, I go to get him out of the buggy and he screams when I touch his arm.  Ok, not just a bruise.  We go home, pull into driveway, Jason gets groceries, and we head to the urgent care.  By this time it is 8:30.  Urgent care does an x-ray.  He has a broken arm and they are sending us the ER to get a cast and possibly to spend the night at the hospital.  So, we head home, get a friend to stay with Nicholas, pack up some stuff and 15 minutes later we are on our way to the ER.  I think we got there around 11.  At 1am it is finally his turn to get the cast.  They were able to get the bone to stay in place in the cast so good news, we don't have to stay overnight.  We head home with our new blue cast and are finally in bed at 3am.  We had a tough weekend fighting the pain and swelling, but he was a trooper.  Doing great now.  We find out Friday if his bone has stayed set or if we need surgery to re-set.  20-40% of these breaks shift after the cast and require surgery.  Here's hoping for no surgery.  If no surgery, then we have 3 more weeks in the cast.  If we have surgery, it will be 4 weeks from surgery.

At the party having a blast!

In the ER, had some morphine so in no pain.  Loved our yellow wheelchair!  Yellow is Nolan's favorite color

Around 2am, waking up after getting cast.

The next day, Nolan did a lot of this.  Pain meds keep knocking him out.  This was at Nicholas's baseball game.

Nolan is 5!

My little Nolan turned 5 on Sunday.  5...wow!  Those years sure went fast!

My baby, the one who completed our family.  I can't imagine how boring life would be without you.  You are such a ball of energy.  You love Mommy and Daddy and give the best hugs.  You love your big brother and most of the time thinks he rocks.  You love baseball, football and basketball.  You love watching Alabama football and yelling Roll Tide!  You have such a big heart.  You are so stubborn at times, but you come by that honestly :)  You still have to have teddy every night while you sleep.  He is your best friend.  I love you Nolan Patrick!

We took the whole weekend to celebrate Nolan's 5th Birthday. We started Friday with cupcakes at school. Mommy and Daddy both went.

We then had a sleep over at our house.  Nolan's friend Gabriel came as well as Nicholas's friend Aidan.  Reenie (Jason's Mom) also came.  We had pizza for dinner and then cake!  Nolan requested a shark cake this year.

After cake, we headed to the movies to see Hotel Transylvania.  It was awesome!

Saturday, Nicholas had a ball game and then we headed to the aquarium to see the fish!

Sunday, was Nolan's actual birthday.  The day started with some presents and 5 balloons each filled with a dollar.  Nolan got to pop each one to get his dollar

Sunday afternoon we went for a bike ride on the greenway so Nolan could ride the new bike he got for his birthday.  A great weekend of celebrations!
