Friday night started out just like any normal Friday night. Nolan and I headed to Monkey Joe's for a birthday party. He was having a blast and then 30 minutes before the party was over he runs over to me crying and holding his arm. He had fallen running across the floor to the next jumpy thing. I figured he just bruised it and would be fine. We leave the party and head to the grocery store. The whole time he times me his arm still hurts. As we are getting back into the car, I go to get him out of the buggy and he screams when I touch his arm. Ok, not just a bruise. We go home, pull into driveway, Jason gets groceries, and we head to the urgent care. By this time it is 8:30. Urgent care does an x-ray. He has a broken arm and they are sending us the ER to get a cast and possibly to spend the night at the hospital. So, we head home, get a friend to stay with Nicholas, pack up some stuff and 15 minutes later we are on our way to the ER. I think we got there around 11. At 1am it is finally his turn to get the cast. They were able to get the bone to stay in place in the cast so good news, we don't have to stay overnight. We head home with our new blue cast and are finally in bed at 3am. We had a tough weekend fighting the pain and swelling, but he was a trooper. Doing great now. We find out Friday if his bone has stayed set or if we need surgery to re-set. 20-40% of these breaks shift after the cast and require surgery. Here's hoping for no surgery. If no surgery, then we have 3 more weeks in the cast. If we have surgery, it will be 4 weeks from surgery.
At the party having a blast!
In the ER, had some morphine so in no pain. Loved our yellow wheelchair! Yellow is Nolan's favorite color
Around 2am, waking up after getting cast.
The next day, Nolan did a lot of this. Pain meds keep knocking him out. This was at Nicholas's baseball game.
