I have everything I need

I watched the special on Randy Pausch last night on ABC. For those of you that don't know this is the guy that did the Last Lecture. He fought a long battle against pancreatic cancer. Jason's Dad also lost his battle with pancreatic cancer this year so this hits close to home. I found myself crying for a man I never met. He was so inspirational and kept his spirits up right until the end. Something his wife said in an interview stuck with me. When she starts to feel down she says to herself, "I have everything I need". What a great thing for all of us to remind ourselves of. I have a great family, great friends, plenty of food and roof over my head. What more do I really need in life? My kids reminded me of this last night when Nolan finally said Ma Ma. You would have thought I just won a million dollars. It was the best feeling in the world. Right after he decided to pick up a piece of cheese and put it in his mouth. I know...doesn't sound like much, but for the mother of a kid who has been picking up little pieces of food up for awhile, but would never put them in his mouth, it was big deal. Nicholas and I started dancing around in celebration. Nolan thought we were so funny.

Anniversary Trip

Jason and I just spent a wonderful weekend in Savannah to celebrate our 6 year anniversary. I'm not going to lie, it was really hot and humid, but we still had a great time. I love Savannah. It feels like you are stepping into another time when you visit there. Jason surprised me by booking a really nice bed and breakfast. We stayed at the Ballastone Inn. It was beautiful. We found out later that this is where all the movie stars stay when they are in town. We toured Savannah on Saturday and then went and had our anniversary dinner at the Old Pink House restaurant. Can you say Yummy? You must eat there if you are ever in Savannah. We also did a ghost tour Saturday night, a must when you are in a historical city. All in all it was a great weekend away. Thanks to Grandmomma (My Mom) for staying with the boys. You could tell how much fun Nicholas had.

Here are some pics of the boys. I couldn't post and not include some pics of them :)

Crawling Update

Nolan is really getting the hang of moving around. I was getting Nicholas out of the tub last night and getting him PJs. Nolan was in his room playing. Nicholas and I come out of his room and Nolan has crawled from his room to the play area outside and was on his way into Nicholas's room to get us. I'm just glad he didn't see the stairs that were right there and decide to head that way. Needless to say, I got the baby gate out today and put it back up.

We are all at home today waiting for Grandmomma to get here. Jason and I are heading to B'ham this afternoon for the visitation and the funeral and my Mom is staying here with the kids. After the funeral on Friday, Jason and I are then heading to Savannah to celebrate our 6 year anniversary. I can't believe it has been 6 years already! Sometimes it seems like a lot less and other times a lot longer :)

Nicholas has really gotten interested in the whole marriage thing. He keeps asking if I'm married. I told him yes I am to Daddy. I was then informed that when he got bigger he was going to marry me. It was so sweet. I love the stuff that comes out of his mouth sometimes. My favorite right now...he calls Bob the Builder, Bill the Bobber! It is so funny! He serenaded Nolan and I on the way to school yesterday. He loves making up songs about what is going on in his life. This week at school was bug week, so the song was about bugs.

A whole new world

Well..it finally happened...Nolan is mobile. He started pulling himself across the floor on Sunday. Of course, the 1st thing he goes for...Nicholas's cars. Oh boy! At least we have like 100 of them! Nolan still hasn't figured out that if he picks up his tummy off the floor he could move faster. Lord help me when he does!

Nolan also ate some real food last night without gagging. He ate some bites of peaches and banana. He was such a mess afterwards.

I want to thank all of you for your prayers. Jason's Grandmother passed away yesterday afternoon. The funeral is Friday morning. She lived a good life and passed peacefully.
