I have everything I need

I watched the special on Randy Pausch last night on ABC. For those of you that don't know this is the guy that did the Last Lecture. He fought a long battle against pancreatic cancer. Jason's Dad also lost his battle with pancreatic cancer this year so this hits close to home. I found myself crying for a man I never met. He was so inspirational and kept his spirits up right until the end. Something his wife said in an interview stuck with me. When she starts to feel down she says to herself, "I have everything I need". What a great thing for all of us to remind ourselves of. I have a great family, great friends, plenty of food and roof over my head. What more do I really need in life? My kids reminded me of this last night when Nolan finally said Ma Ma. You would have thought I just won a million dollars. It was the best feeling in the world. Right after he decided to pick up a piece of cheese and put it in his mouth. I know...doesn't sound like much, but for the mother of a kid who has been picking up little pieces of food up for awhile, but would never put them in his mouth, it was big deal. Nicholas and I started dancing around in celebration. Nolan thought we were so funny.

Anniversary Trip

Jason and I just spent a wonderful weekend in Savannah to celebrate our 6 year anniversary. I'm not going to lie, it was really hot and humid, but we still had a great time. I love Savannah. It feels like you are stepping into another time when you visit there. Jason surprised me by booking a really nice bed and breakfast. We stayed at the Ballastone Inn. It was beautiful. We found out later that this is where all the movie stars stay when they are in town. We toured Savannah on Saturday and then went and had our anniversary dinner at the Old Pink House restaurant. Can you say Yummy? You must eat there if you are ever in Savannah. We also did a ghost tour Saturday night, a must when you are in a historical city. All in all it was a great weekend away. Thanks to Grandmomma (My Mom) for staying with the boys. You could tell how much fun Nicholas had.

Here are some pics of the boys. I couldn't post and not include some pics of them :)

Crawling Update

Nolan is really getting the hang of moving around. I was getting Nicholas out of the tub last night and getting him PJs. Nolan was in his room playing. Nicholas and I come out of his room and Nolan has crawled from his room to the play area outside and was on his way into Nicholas's room to get us. I'm just glad he didn't see the stairs that were right there and decide to head that way. Needless to say, I got the baby gate out today and put it back up.

We are all at home today waiting for Grandmomma to get here. Jason and I are heading to B'ham this afternoon for the visitation and the funeral and my Mom is staying here with the kids. After the funeral on Friday, Jason and I are then heading to Savannah to celebrate our 6 year anniversary. I can't believe it has been 6 years already! Sometimes it seems like a lot less and other times a lot longer :)

Nicholas has really gotten interested in the whole marriage thing. He keeps asking if I'm married. I told him yes I am to Daddy. I was then informed that when he got bigger he was going to marry me. It was so sweet. I love the stuff that comes out of his mouth sometimes. My favorite right now...he calls Bob the Builder, Bill the Bobber! It is so funny! He serenaded Nolan and I on the way to school yesterday. He loves making up songs about what is going on in his life. This week at school was bug week, so the song was about bugs.

A whole new world

Well..it finally happened...Nolan is mobile. He started pulling himself across the floor on Sunday. Of course, the 1st thing he goes for...Nicholas's cars. Oh boy! At least we have like 100 of them! Nolan still hasn't figured out that if he picks up his tummy off the floor he could move faster. Lord help me when he does!

Nolan also ate some real food last night without gagging. He ate some bites of peaches and banana. He was such a mess afterwards.

I want to thank all of you for your prayers. Jason's Grandmother passed away yesterday afternoon. The funeral is Friday morning. She lived a good life and passed peacefully.

Date Night!

Last night I actually had a date with my husband! It was great not to worry about being a mommy for a hour or two. We went and ate Chinese food...Yummy and then went and saw "Wanted" at the movie. It was a really good movie. I would recommend it.

This morning Nolan had his 9 month pictures taken. He did so good. I spent way to much money, but he is only a baby once in his life right?

Now we are all chillin at home. We have a b-day party this afternoon at 4, but that's it for today.

On a side note, please pray for Jason's grandmother and his family. His grandmother(Dad's Mom) hasn't been doing well and they don't expect her to last thru the weekend.

Weekend in Review

I can't believe it is already Monday Morning. Why does the weekend go by so fast? We had a nice relaxing time at home. Friday night Jason and I watched PS I love you. It was such a good movie. Saturday we all went to a pool birthday party for Lauren who turned 2. Nicholas had such a good time. He even tried to swim some without his water wings. Nicholas and Nolan both crashed on the way home. Saturday night we all watched Shrek 2 and then Jason went to play poker with the guys. Nicholas was so excited at bed time because Daddy wasn't there which in a 3 year olds mind means he can sleep in the big bed with Mommy. I told him that was fine. Jason wanted to move him to his bed when he got home later, but we decided to let him stay. Sunday it rained all day long. I didn't mind it too much. The grass and flowers really need it. Poor Nicholas though...all he wanted to do it play outside. Nolan attempted to crawl, but still hasn't gotten the hang of it yet.

Nolan's Doctor Visit

Nolan went for his 9 month check-up this morning. Great timing because he started getting sick again yesterday. The visit was good. Can you believe I actually didn't even have to sit in the waiting room? After I signed in, they were already calling our name. That has never happened to me before. It was a great feeling.

Of course, Nolan has an ear infection again. We go back in 3 weeks to check it out and then will probably be referred to an ENT. This is his 4th infection since March.

Here's his stats for 9 months...
Weight - 20 pounds, 14 ounces - 52th percentile
Height - 30 inches - 91th percentile

Looking like we are going to be built like Daddy....just like Nicholas is :)

Nicholas at the same age....
Weight - 19 pounds 9 ounces
Height - 28.8 inches

Camping out with Daddy

Last night Nicholas and Daddy made a tent in the den. Nicholas was so excited to hide in it with Daddy. Nicholas even used the throw pillows to make doors into the tent. Even Shannon had a hard time figuring out how to get in. Nicholas made sure the only way in was through his "doors". It was driving Shannon crazy!
He finally let Shannon in as you can see from the pic.

Celebrity Spotting

You won't believe who I saw today...I was so lucky to have a camera in my hand when I saw him...I couldn't believe it...Batman...in my living room!

I know you are all thinking of how lucky I am to get a personal visit from Batman. For only $8.99 at Toys R Us, you too can have a visit from your very own Batman!

Not much else going on over here. I mean after Batman comes to your house, it makes everything else seem small by comparison :)

We are just enjoying our 3rd night of rain. That's right, we have had 3 nights of good rain. I say, keep it coming. Maybe my grass will grow some :)

4th of July

What a great 4th of July Weekend! It started Thursday with a Parade at Nicholas's school. They decorated t-shirts and walked around the parking lot. It was so cute! They had the best time. The 1st picture is of Nicholas with his two friends Seth and Jacob. The 2nd picture is of Nicholas and Jacob.

Thursday night we headed for Dothan. We spent the night and got up and drove to the beach to spend the day with Jason's Family. Nolan got to spend the day with Grandmomma and Granddaddy in Dothan. He got them both for the whole day to himself. How often does that happen in a family with 8 grandkids.

We took our nephew Jake with us. Nicholas and Jake had a great time! They played on the beach for hours. I got to bury them in the sand and then they buried me. They got to play in the pool also. We stayed until about 9:30 so they got to see the fireworks.

This is Nicholas with his uncle Justin in the pool. All the boys (including the grown up ones) were having a water gun fight.

Saturday we hung out in Dothan with my family. Nicholas and Jake played all day and Granddaddy took them fishing in his pond. Nicholas was wiped out by the time we got home on Sunday. He took a quick nap on the couch, woke up, rolled over and asked me if he could go back to Grandmomma's :)

Nolan is 9 months old

Nolan was 9 months old yesterday. We go to the doc on the 11th so I'll post his weight then. I can't believe he has been here 9 months already. He is such a sweet little baby. He is starting to roll places, but still won't pick his tummy off the floor to crawl. I don't know how Nicholas is going to react when that finally happens.

I realized yesterday that I never post pics of me since I'm always the one with the camera. So here's a pic of me from the park on Friday. Yes, I ran through the water with my clothes on. It was the only way I could Nicholas to do it.
